SEGA's Like a Dragon series truly pioneered the Japanese gang-style game genre, boasting over a dozen spin-off titles to date. Its vast, intricate character designs and storylines are constantly praised by players.
Today (Feb 6), SEGA announced a thrilling crossover project between the Like a Dragon series and the Japanese yakuza film series Nihon Tōitsu. The live-action series, Like a Dragon Powered by Nihon Tōitsu, will drop all three episodes on Amazon Prime Video starting February 10.

"Nihon Tōitsu" is a yakuza series that began in August 2013. It chronicles the journey of former delinquents Renji Himuro (played by Yasukaze Motomiya) and Yuto Tamura (played by Shōkichi Yamaguchi) as they climb the ranks to the pinnacle of Japan's underworld.

The series' production is handled by the original Nihon Tōitsu production team. Its story will serve as a prequel, leading into the complete remake of Like a Dragon 3 (scheduled for release on February 12, 2026), titled Like a Dragon Kiwami 3 / Like a Dragon 3 Gaiden: Dark Ties, depicting events that set the stage for the main game.

As for the main cast, Yasukaze Motomiya, who stars in and produces "Nihon Tōitsu," will portray Kazuma Kiryu, while his co-star Shōkichi Yamaguchi takes on the role of Goro Majima. The series also features Kazuhiro Nakaya as Akira Nishikiyama and Kenji Matsuda as Makoto Date, among others.

The trailer for Like a Dragon Powered by Nihon Tōitsu has already been released—a must-watch for fans! All three episodes will be available on Amazon Prime Video starting February 10.
