Oscar winner Russell Crowe, known for occasionally directing and starring in his own projects, is set to release his second film as a screenwriter this year, titled "Beast." The movie recently unveiled its first trailer and two character posters (pictured below). Distributed by Lionsgate, "Beast" is slated for release in North America on April 10.
Crowe did not direct this feature, serving instead as screenwriter and in a supporting role. Australian director Tyler Atkins took the helm.

In the film, Crowe portrays Sammy, the coach of former MMA champion Patton James. When Patton's brother finds himself in peril, Patton is forced to return to the ring for a high-stakes fight. The role of James is played by Australian actor Daniel MacPherson.
Interestingly, "Beast" marks Crowe's third collaboration with a Hemsworth brother. Four years ago, Crowe directed, wrote, and starred in "Poker Face," which featured Liam Hemsworth. He also shared the screen with Chris Hemsworth in "Thor: Love and Thunder." Now, in "Beast," he appears alongside the eldest brother, Luke Hemsworth.
