Quentin Tarantino, who famously vowed years ago to retire after directing ten films, has openly discussed his post-feature film career plans multiple times. He has often stated his intention to focus on TV series, continue writing novels, and venture into theater with stage plays after leaving the film industry. While his tenth film has yet to materialize, Tarantino has recently made significant progress on the theater front.

British tabloid The Daily Mail recently reported that Tarantino is likely to debut his first self-penned stage play in London's West End next year. The play is not an adaptation of any of his previous films and is described as an old-school British farce, with a style akin to the works of Brian Rix and Ray Cooney, and somewhat similar to "Noises Off." The Daily Mail also mentioned that Tarantino is in talks with several A-list Hollywood stars for potential roles, suggesting the cast will not be limited to theater actors.

March 11 Update: Official press release confirms the play's title as "The Popinjay Cavalier." It is described as an epic comedy filled with romance and adventure, interwoven with elements of deception and disguise, written and directed by Tarantino himself. Sony Pictures, which previously distributed two of Tarantino's films, "Django Unchained" and "Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood," is co-producing the project.
