Yoho Kobayashi's hit Japanese soccer manga, "Ao Ashi," wrapped up its run in 2025, but fans got some exciting news last year with the announcement of an anime Season 2!
Yesterday (March 12), the official word dropped: "Ao Ashi" Season 2 is set to premiere on October 4! They even blessed us with a killer teaser visual and PV. It's been roughly four years since Season 1, so you can bet fans are absolutely buzzing about this long-awaited comeback.
"Ao Ashi" (アオアシ) first hit the pages of Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits magazine back in 2015, finally concluding its run in June 2025 with a whopping 40 tankobon volumes. It's definitely one of the most popular soccer manga out there!
The newly released visual features protagonist Ashito Aoi, who's successfully made it to Team A. He's striking a powerful pose atop a soccer notebook, symbolizing "thinking football." The image hints at the higher-level challenges and growth awaiting Ashito as he steps onto the new stage of Team A, leaving fans hyped for what Season 2 has in store!

One thing to note: while Production I.G handled Season 1, TMS Entertainment is taking the reins for Season 2. However, most of the production team remains the same, so fans can probably breathe a sigh of relief!
