Today (3/15), during the "Oarai Spring Festival Kairaku Festa 2026" event held in Oarai Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, the official announcement dropped: Girls und Panzer Das Finale Part 5 is set to premiere on October 9, 2026. This marks the first new theatrical installment in three years! And that's not all! They also revealed that the manga spin-off, Girls und Panzer Ribbon Warrior, is getting its own theatrical anime adaptation.
The tagline for this installment is "The Decisive Battle Begins!" Part 5 won't just be getting a standard release; it's also hitting theaters with a variety of special formats. These include Dolby Cinema (a series first!), Dolby Atmos, 4DX, MX4D, and the regular version – all five screening formats will launch simultaneously on October 9.
What's more, the spin-off story Girls und Panzer Ribbon Warrior, which picks up after the main "Girls und Panzer" series with Oarai Girls' Academy having won the national championship, is also getting a pilot theatrical anime. However, this pilot is currently slated for a special screening *after* the release of Chapter 4 of the spin-off movie series, Girls und Panzer: More Love Love Operation! Given that "More Love Love Operation!" is only on Chapter 1 right now, fans might be in for a bit of a wait.
