With its second season now streaming and critical acclaim continuing to build, some fans have expressed disappointment over Jamie Lee Curtis not appearing as the beloved character Dr. Kureha.
Curtis recently addressed the matter in an interview with international media, confessing her deep affection for "One Piece." She stated, "I am a true fan; I've been watching since the early American dubs. I'm a veteran fan."
Regarding her inability to join the cast, Curtis offered a clear explanation: "The only issue was that the filming location was in South Africa, and I was working on another project at the time, so I couldn't go. If it had been in Los Angeles or somewhere closer, I definitely would have done it."
Regarding Katey Sagal ultimately taking on the role, Curtis expressed high praise. She commented, "Katey is a very close friend of mine, and she did such a fantastic job. Plus, that's her own body; if it were me, I'd have to use prosthetics, and I really couldn't do that." Her tone, filled with humor, also showcased her support for her friend's performance.
