New Cyborg 009 Anime "Cyborg 009 Nemesis" Set for Summer 2026 Release: A Brand New 009 Emerges?

Shotaro Ishinomori's classic sci-fi manga pioneer, "Cyborg 009" (サイボーグ009), surprised many long-time fans last July with the announcement of a long-awaited new anime adaptation, "Cyborg 009 Nemesis" (サイボーグ009 ネメシス).

Recently, the official teaser visual was unveiled, confirming Yuichi Nakamura as the voice of the new character, "Graviton." The series is officially slated to premiere in Summer 2026.

"Cyborg 009" (サイボーグ009) began serialization in "Weekly Shonen King" in July 1964, later appearing in various magazines from multiple publishers. It stands as one of Ishinomori-sensei's signature works, alongside "Kamen Rider." The series chronicles the adventures and daily lives of nine cyborg warriors, each possessing unique abilities. However, the author passed away before completing the series' finale, leaving the manga's original run unfinished.

It has since been adapted into anime multiple times, with two adaptations during the Showa era and another during the Heisei era, solidifying its status as a true classic.

The newly released visual is packed with a heavy atmosphere, featuring bold taglines like "I am 009." and "Generational Shift." At the center, the new "009"—Graviton—commands an overwhelming presence, arms outstretched, exuding an intense, cool aura. In the background, hints of the organization he leads, "Nemesis," are visible, leaving fans eager to see what developments this long-awaited new installment will bring.

While an official teaser video was previously released, only the Summer 2026 release window has been confirmed so far; the broadcast format remains under wraps. Fans of this iconic series should keep an eye out for further updates!
