Universal Studios Japan (USJ), known for its annual collaborations, has kicked off its yearly blockbuster event, "UNIVERSAL COOL JAPAN 2026," drawing in tons of visitors.
Last year, USJ teased a "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" event, and now, on March 24, they've officially unveiled "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Story Walk ~A Journey of Remembrance~," a limited-time experience set to open on May 30!
Currently, UNIVERSAL COOL JAPAN 2026 is in full swing, featuring collaborations with fan favorites like "Detective Conan," "Jujutsu Kaisen," Keigo Higashino's "Masquerade Hotel" series, and "Monster Hunter Wilds." But "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is a first-time collaboration, and after the initial announcement, details were scarce—until now, as the full scope of the event has finally been revealed.
The new "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Story Walk ~A Journey of Remembrance~" attraction also marks the debut of USJ's brand-new play style: "Universal Story Walk."
So, what exactly is a "Story Walk"? It's an ultra-immersive, walk-through experience where you literally step into the story as it unfolds around you. Expect:

As a "traveler," you'll step into the narrative, reliving crucial journey memories with Frieren, Fern, and Stark. The adventure kicks off in the magical city of Oisast, where you'll encounter the trio before being led to the Continental Magic Association's library.
Using the "magic to reproduce the past" discovered by Frieren, various memories will unfold right before your eyes. Think: the half-century meteor shower seen by the Hero's party, the fateful meeting with Fern, intense battles against demons, and even Himmel's statue surrounded by fields of Blue Moon Weed. Plus, expect jaw-dropping displays of large-scale magic like "Zoltraak" (the "killing magic"), meticulously recreated character weapons and items, and even interactive segments where you get to wield magic yourself! In short, you'll be fully immersed in Frieren's journey, feeling every emotion along the way.
