Get ready, fans! CLAMP's iconic masterpiece, "Magic Knight Rayearth," is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2024, and to mark the occasion, a brand-new anime project was announced!
And the wait is almost over! During today's "Anime Japan 2026" event (March 28), it was officially confirmed that the new series will kick off in October! Plus, the main voice cast has been unveiled, featuring Ayane Sakura, Rumi Okubo, and Rie Takahashi as the protagonists. A teaser PV also dropped for the very first time!
Originally serialized by CLAMP in Kodansha's shojo manga magazine "Nakayoshi" starting in 1993, "Magic Knight Rayearth" might have only had three tankobon volumes, but its fresh take on the genre left an indelible mark. The story of three schoolgirls transported to another world, transforming into knights, and piloting giant mechs was groundbreaking for its time, captivating countless fans. It was so popular, a second series, "Magic Knight Rayearth 2," quickly followed.
Alongside the big announcement, the official team also dropped a stunning main visual, the aforementioned teaser PV, and the full details on the voice cast and production staff. Here are the magical trio's voice actors:

The newly released main visual is absolutely epic, depicting the three heroines with swords drawn, ready for battle, radiating determination and power. The whole vibe screams "a grand adventure is about to begin!"
CLAMP themselves expressed immense gratitude to the production team for cherishing and continuing this story, which began all the way back in 1993, into 2026. They also praised the stellar performances of the new voice cast and the fantastic music, stating they'll be watching Hikaru, Umi, and Fu's journey in Cephiro right alongside the fans.
