Actors fail auditions for countless reasons – perhaps their temperament or appearance doesn't match the character, they might forget lines or panic during a screen test, or their interpretation might clash with the director's vision. Dakota Johnson recently shared a memorable audition failure during an interview with UK radio station Hits Radio. However, her reason for not landing the role had nothing to do with her looks or performance; instead, it was her social etiquette.
Johnson recounted, "I had a callback audition once, and I walked into the room, shook everyone's hand, introduced myself, did the scene, and then left. The feedback I got was that because I shook everyone's hand and introduced myself, I was perceived as arrogant. They thought I was networking and being self-important, and I was like, 'Huh?' The reason I didn't get that role was because I was 'too much,' but I was just being polite. That's insane."
