Sony Pictures unveiled a slate of upcoming films this morning at CinemaCon, Hollywood's annual movie exhibition. Among the announcements was the long-rumored "Bloodborne" adaptation. While reports two years ago suggested Sony was eyeing "Godzilla vs. Kong" director Adam Wingard for a live-action feature, the studio today revealed plans for an R-rated animated film instead, indicating a potential shift away from the live-action concept.

Additionally, Sony confirmed they have brought on renowned Irish gaming influencer Jacksepticeye to serve as a co-producer for the project.

Also on the adaptation front, Sony has slated the film version of "Klara and the Sun," based on the acclaimed novel, for an October 23 release. The movie is directed by Taika Waititi, known for "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Thor: Love and Thunder," and stars Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams.

In original content, Takashi Yamazaki, the acclaimed Japanese director behind "Godzilla Minus One," is making his Hollywood English-language debut with "Grandgear," which is now set to premiere on February 18, 2028. A teaser trailer for the film was screened at CinemaCon, with attending media describing it as a sci-fi spectacle featuring two colossal robots battling in a city.
