Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creative force behind modern musical classics like "Hamilton" and "In the Heights," announced earlier this month that five years after "Tick, Tick... Boom!", he is finally set to direct his second feature musical, "Octet." Today, the film's full principal cast was officially unveiled.
The newly announced cast includes: Phillipa Soo ("Hamilton"), Rachel Zegler (live-action "Snow White"), Amanda Seyfried ("Mamma Mia!"), Jonathan Groff ("Mindhunter"), Trammel Tillman ("Severance"), Gaten Matarazzo ("Stranger Things"), Sheryl Lee Ralph ("Abbott Elementary"), and veteran stage actor Paul Jordan Jansen.

Zegler's involvement was the first to surface, with rumors of her joining the production circulating since last month, now officially confirmed. "Octet" is an adaptation of the Off-Broadway musical of the same name, which premiered in 2019. The story centers on internet addiction, following eight protagonists who are consumed by online life. They gather in a church, lock their phones away, and begin to share their experiences battling addiction in a support group-like setting.
