Capcom's been on a warpath lately, targeting adult mod videos for "Resident Evil Requiem." They've hit UK streamer GrizzoUK with a takedown notice for over 1,000 videos, sparking a massive buzz among players and creators.
According to GrizzoUK, Capcom's legal team dropped the hammer, accusing his channel of using game assets to churn out "adult-oriented" mod content on YouTube. They claim it's a blatant violation of their terms of service, copyright, and IP rules. Capcom's message was clear: this stuff clashes with their brand image, and if he didn't pull it immediately, they'd unleash the lawyers.

GrizzoUK, however, wasn't shy about calling out the hypocrisy, wondering why he was singled out when similar content is still floating around YouTube. Still, he ultimately caved, pulling the videos. In a livestream, he confessed that this might spell the end for his costume mod creations, hinting at a pivot to weapon or gameplay-focused mods instead. "This could be the beginning of the end for costume mods," he mused.
For now, GrizzoUK's channel is still kicking, with mod videos for other titles like "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered" and "Stellar Blade" remaining untouched. A few "Resident Evil Requiem" clips are still live too, but they're limited to vanilla gameplay mods like character swaps.
It's not like this came out of nowhere. Capcom actually voiced concerns about game mods way back in 2023, worried that some content could tarnish their brand. This latest mass takedown is definitely being seen as the company drawing an even harder line in the sand for creators.
