Ever since diving headfirst into the production of the "Avatar" film series, James Cameron's recent works — including documentaries — have almost consistently been shot and released in 3D. Beyond new projects, he occasionally revisits his older films to remaster them into new 3D versions. Both "Titanic" and "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," for instance, have received 3D editions personally supervised by Cameron.

However, "Titanic" and "Judgment Day" are clearly not the only classics Cameron plans to revamp. While busy promoting his latest 3D project, "Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D)," Cameron revealed in a recent interview with Letterboxd that he is considering a 3D conversion for "Aliens."
Cameron teased, "We're looking at converting 'Aliens' to 3D, because I know the tools for creating depth maps are so much better now than they used to be. We might end up converting 'Aliens' to 3D, which should be an interesting experience."
Speaking of "Aliens," Cameron also clarified that Sigourney Weaver's character, Kiri, yelling "Get away from my mom!" while saving her mother in "Avatar: Fire and Ash" was not a self-homage to the iconic "Get away from her, you bitch!" line from "Aliens." He explained, "I didn't know what else to have the character say at that moment! Come on, Varang is one of the fiercest female villains you've ever seen, so it's natural for someone to want to drop a line like that. I don't think it was a deliberate callback, but I appreciate the recognition."
