Hold onto your Mobile Suits, folks! During today's (May 15) "GUNDAM CONFERENCE SPRING 2026" event, the official word dropped: to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, a colossal commemorative event called "GUNDAM-Con" is hitting Makuhari Messe in January 2027!
This is set to be one of the biggest events in Gundam IP history, slated for January 9-11, 2027 (tentative). And get this – after its debut, "GUNDAM-Con" is planning to roll out to locations worldwide!
"GUNDAM-Con" is all about building something "together with the fans." Expect appearances from the creators behind the Gundam series, plus immersive exhibits and interactive zones that dive deep into the world of the franchise. What's more, all those world championships for Gunpla, card games, and video games that used to run separately? They're all getting unified and held under one roof at this epic event!
From what the official announcement has revealed, the event will feature "Mobile Suit Gundam" itself, alongside arcade hits like "Mobile Suit Gundam ARSENAL BASE" and "Mobile Suit Gundam EXTREME VS. 2 INFINITE BOOST," mobile game "SD Gundam G Generation Eternal," the miniature game "Gundam ASSEMBLE," and the "GUNDAM CARD GAME."
And of course, it wouldn't be a Gundam event without Bandai's Gunpla and TAMASHII NATIONS. You can bet your last yen that event-exclusive merchandise will be there, ready to wreak havoc on your wallet!
The official announcement also teased that "GUNDAM-Con" will be a gathering point for numerous creators and series production staff talks, plus a whole host of new IP-related content. Get ready for a massive celebration!
