GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT Announced for 2027, Introducing a New Gundam Universe Battling an Unknown Threat

During Summer Game Fest 2026 on June 6, one of the world’s biggest game showcase events, Bandai Namco Entertainment officially unveiled the brand-new Gundam action title GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT. The game is currently slated for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is a high-mobility action game built around fast-paced combat, promising stylish and exhilarating Gundam battles with a strong sense of speed and impact.

In the newly released trailer, the main Gundam can be seen clashing fiercely with enemies using an enormous blade. Notably, these opponents appear to be something entirely different from the familiar foes seen in previous Gundam settings. The footage also teases what looks like remote weapons reminiscent of GUND-BITs, along with the appearance of the ever-iconic Haro.

Players take on the role of Rex, pilot of the Gundam Helix, as he faces a mysterious threat alongside his Haro partner, “Vee.” Also introduced is the heroine Sofia, an enigmatic girl whose true role remains unclear. Set against a vast, photorealistic vision of outer space, the game promises a sweeping story tied to the fate of humanity’s future.

For now, Bandai Namco has yet to reveal deeper details about the game’s systems or worldbuilding. Still, based on the debut trailer, the title looks set to combine close-quarters combat, high-speed movement, and remote weaponry—classic Gundam-style elements that should make it one to watch as more information is unveiled.
