With just over two months until its theatrical debut, Ridley Scott's highly anticipated post-apocalyptic feature, "The Dog Stars," has finally unveiled its second, more comprehensive trailer and a new key art poster (see below).
The star-studded cast features Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Allison Janney, and Guy Pearce, who previously collaborated with Scott on the "Alien" prequel series. The screenplay was penned by Mark L. Smith, known for "Twisters," adapting Peter Heller's acclaimed 2012 novel of the same name. The film is slated for an August 28 release in North America.

Set in the near future, the film depicts an unnamed pandemic that has devastated American society. Civilian pilot Hig, his dog, and the hardened ex-Marine Bangley lead a solitary existence at an abandoned Colorado air base.
Despite their clashing personalities, they depend on each other to fend off roaming intruders. When a random signal is picked up by the radio in Hig's 1956 Cessna plane, the sound ignites his hope for a life beyond their strictly controlled borders. Hig decides to risk everything, flying out past the frontier to pursue this faint message and search for new hope. Elordi stars as Hig, Brolin as Bangley, while Qualley and Pearce portray a father-daughter pair living on a ranch.
