Tatsuki Fujimoto's hit manga "Chainsaw Man" saw its first theatrical anime, "Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc," rake in billions at the Japanese box office last year. And just as 2023 wrapped up, fans got another treat: the announcement of a brand-new anime, the "Chainsaw Man Assassin Arc."
During MAPPA's 15th Anniversary Project Presentation, streamed live on their official YouTube channel on the evening of the 19th, the studio dropped the latest PV for the "Chainsaw Man Assassin Arc." But that wasn't all! They also officially confirmed a "Chainsaw Man" mobile game is in the works, unveiling a brand-new, MAPPA-produced opening animation set to the game's theme song.
The "Chainsaw Man Assassin Arc" had already been confirmed as the next big chapter, leaving fans eagerly awaiting more details. Now, with the release of the latest PV, we get a glimpse of assassins from across the globe mobilizing, all with Denji in their sights. Plus, several new characters make their debut!
This arc is a fan-favorite from the original manga, though its release format (will it be a movie or a TV series?) is still under wraps. What we do know is that the same dream team behind the "Reze Arc" is back at the helm, including Director Tatsuya Yoshihara, scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko, and music maestro Kensuke Ushio.

But wait, there's more! Beyond the anime updates, the official "Chainsaw Man" mobile game project has officially kicked off. The game's opening theme song will be "ALL THE LYNCH!! ALL THE MINCE!!," a brand-new track from Japanese metal legends Maximum the Hormone. And to top it off, MAPPA has already dropped an animated OP video for the game, perfectly synced to the new song.
