Yoshihiro Togashi's "Hunter x Hunter" finally made its long-awaited return to "Weekly Shonen Jump" in October 2023 after a lengthy hiatus, only to go on break again after Chapter 410. But fear not, fans! Togashi has been frequently updating his progress on X (formerly Twitter), keeping hopes alive for its comeback.
And now, the wait is over! Shueisha announced on the 22nd that the latest chapter of "Hunter x Hunter" will be published in "Weekly Shonen Jump" #31, hitting shelves on June 29. This marks its first new content in roughly a year and a half, since its last hiatus began on December 9, 2024.

The exciting news was revealed in the preview page for the next issue, found in "Weekly Shonen Jump" #30, which was released on the 22nd. The official announcement teased: "The Succession Contest erupts with malice! New chapter published & commemorative color page for the latest volume release!" The preview also amped up the hype, asking: "The Succession Contest heats up even further! What will become of Kurapika and the others!?"
It's worth noting that "Hunter x Hunter" has moved beyond its traditional weekly serialization format. Because of this, the official announcement uses the phrase "publication of a new chapter" rather than "resumption of serialization." "Weekly Shonen Jump" also no longer lists the series as "on hiatus" within the magazine itself.
And there's more good news! Volume 39, the first new tankobon in two years, is confirmed for release on July 3.

Shueisha had previously confirmed that "Hunter x Hunter" would continue in a different format, a move likely aimed at easing the pressure of weekly deadlines on Togashi and allowing him to balance his health with the manga's completion.
While this return as a "new chapter publication" might mean irregular releases in the future, for fans, any new chapter is a treasure!
