If you're into Gunpla, you know the drill: painting, cutting, weathering – the endless possibilities are what make building these kits so much fun.
Well, one Japanese modeler, ゴーリー・ラー (@go_ri_ra_gunpla), decided to take a different angle on Gunpla. He recently shared a custom build on X that's gone absolutely viral: a Gundam sporting a very distinct "dad bod" and radiating serious middle-aged spread vibes. Netizens are cracking up, with many exclaiming, "That's literally me!"

Gone are the powerful chest and abdominal armor; instead, this Gundam is rocking a perfectly round, slightly drooping belly – the epitome of "happy weight." Its stance is anything but heroic, looking more like it's given up on life, just standing there listlessly.
Seriously, looking at it is like staring in the mirror after a shower and seeing your own gut poke out – it's oddly relatable, LOL. This isn't so much a "Mobile Suit Gundam" as it is a "Mobile Swole Gundam," packed with pure, unadulterated mass.

ゴーリー・ラー shared that he always aims to create pieces that can be enjoyed even by those unfamiliar with Gundam or model building. For this project, his concept was "a little bizarre, but also super cute."
The base model is an old-school 1/60 RX-78-2 Gundam kit. For that glorious gut, he used epoxy putty, meticulously shaping and sanding it down bit by bit to achieve the perfect "dad bod" curves. The artist clearly put in some serious work to nail that middle-aged physique.
Before painting, you can even spot a belly button on the model, making the whole thing eerily realistic – and a little unsettling, in the best way.

Once this "chubby Gundam" hit the internet, the comments section exploded with laughter. Netizens chimed in with remarks like, "That's literally me, the old man," "It could star in a weight-loss commercial," and "That belly? It's my belly, LOL!"
ゴーリー・ラー has plenty of other fun and creative works, so be sure to check out his X account for more awesome inspiration!
