Naruto Card Game Reveals First Designs, Locks in Summer 2027 Global Launch!

Back in June, the official Naruto team announced that a "Naruto Card Game" was in the works, produced and published by Bandai Namco. The news signaled that the massively popular franchise was finally ready to enter the trading card game arena.

Following the initial reveal, more details were officially unveiled at Gen Con 2026, including the game's system features, the first look at card designs, and a full roadmap leading to a global simultaneous launch in Summer 2027. More information will be released at major conventions around the world, giving players a chance to get an early taste of this brand-new TCG.

The "Naruto Card Game" will feature characters and storylines from the entire saga, including the animated series *Naruto*, *Naruto Shippuden*, and *Boruto: Naruto Next Generations*. Players will deploy characters from across the generations in strategic ninja battles.

Basic Game Rules

Each player will need:

1 Leader Card

A 50-card Deck

5 Chakra Cards

1 Entry Card

Players must summon characters of the same color as their Leader Card to fight. The goal is to reduce the opponent's Leader's health to zero to win. During the game, players will turn their "Entry Card" sideways to summon characters and use Chakra Cards to activate abilities like Ninjutsu. The developers have emphasized that psychological warfare is a key element, making the ability to predict your opponent's moves and see through their strategies crucial for victory.

Card Types Explained

■ Leader Card

The core of your entire deck. The Leader Card's color determines which cards and tactics you can use, and it's the vital character you need to protect. Reduce your opponent's Leader's health to 0 to win the game.

■ Character Card

Your main fighting force in battle. In addition to battling enemy characters and Leaders, some characters can consume Chakra to unleash powerful special abilities like "Ninjutsu."

■ EX Character Card

Powerful characters that can only be played when specific conditions are met. They possess abilities that can turn the tide of battle in an instant, serving as your ultimate trump card.

■ Chakra Card

The resource required to pay for Ninjutsu and other support effects.

■ Entry Card

Used to pay the cost for summoning Character Cards to the field.

The first official card illustrations were also revealed. In addition to brand-new art commissioned from various illustrators, the game will also feature art from the anime and the original manga.

Players can look forward to newly drawn character illustrations, classic scenes from the anime, original manga panels, and card designs that recreate famous moments from the series, adding significant collector value.

Officials have announced that promotional events will be held in various countries. More news is expected in December 2026, with beginner tutorial sessions rolling out at partner stores starting in January 2027, leading up to the official launch in the summer of 2027.
