Kevin Feige Teases Kingpin's Official "Spider-Man" Movie Debut, Says Rights Aren't the Problem

As "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" approaches its release, the connections between Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Marvel's street-level heroes continue to expand, bringing renewed hope for a long-anticipated "Spider-Man versus Kingpin" showdown.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently confirmed in an interview with an international outlet that Kingpin has never been ruled out of discussions for future Spider-Man stories.

Vincent D'Onofrio, who portrays Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, has frequently expressed his desire to face off against Holland's Spider-Man, previously suggesting that studio rights were the primary obstacle.

However, when asked about the issue, Feige responded that it was "not like that." He clarified that "like everything else, there are things to navigate," and that "we did talk about all those characters at one point."

To date, Spider-Man has already encountered lawyer Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, in "Spider-Man: No Way Home." He will also cross paths with Frank Castle, the Punisher, in the upcoming "Spider-Man: Brand New Day." The film's background has also briefly featured "Fisk" campaign posters, indicating Kingpin's influence is already present in Peter Parker's New York.

Additionally, Rosario Dawson had filmed scenes reprising her role as Claire Temple, but these segments were ultimately cut from "Spider-Man: Brand New Day."

While Kingpin has yet to make an official appearance, Feige's comments confirm that Marvel has discussed integrating these street-level characters into Spider-Man's narrative. Rather than battling cosmic threats like Galactus, a confrontation between Spider-Man, Daredevil, Punisher, and Kingpin amidst political corruption and arms dealing could form a significant, more grounded storyline for the MCU's future.
