Following the buzz from its "Pokémon Summer Mac" special campaign, which included the "McDonald's 2026 Summer Surprise Lucky Bag" filled with exclusive Pokémon merch and the "Pokémon 30th Anniversary Burger," McDonald's Japan is keeping the hype train rolling.
Today (August 3), the company announced a brand-new "Pokémon Happy Meal" collaboration. Featuring classic Pokémon like the original starter trio, Pikachu, and Eevee, along with fun summer-themed toys, the collection will launch in three waves starting August 7.

This Happy Meal series includes a total of 12 toys. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon, the collection gathers 30 different Pokémon from across the generations, including starters like Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, as well as partner Pokémon from various eras.
The first wave features Pikachu alongside the starter Pokémon from the generations following Pokémon Red & Green and Pokémon Gold & Silver. The second wave brings in Eevee and Snorlax, plus the starters from the generations after Pokémon X & Y and Pokémon Sun & Moon.

To manage demand, a purchase limit will be in effect for the first three days (August 7 to August 9), restricting customers to a maximum of six Happy Meals per transaction. Additionally, unlike previous promotions, there will be no weekend-exclusive bonus items like trading cards.
During the campaign period, the Pokémon Happy Meal will not be available through third-party delivery platforms, though it can be ordered via McDonald's official delivery service. However, pre-orders will not be available through the official service.
