The first-ever animated film for the beloved series, "Chiikawa: The Secret of Mermaid Island," hit the big screen on July 24, 2026, raking in impressive box office numbers and earning rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
Now, get ready for another exciting collaboration! All Nippon Airways (ANA) announced on August 3 that it's teaming up with the "Chiikawa" anime for a special project. Starting in late October this year, a uniquely decorated "Chiikawa Jet" will officially join ANA's domestic flight operations. The airline has unveiled the aircraft's design, with the exact inaugural flight date and schedule to be announced soon.

ANA hopes the "Chiikawa Jet" will serve as a wing connecting the world and people's hearts, bringing more joy and surprises to travelers. The aircraft's exterior will feature eight beloved characters soaring across Japan's skies, while exclusive in-flight amenities will offer passengers a "Chiikawa sky journey" only available on ANA.

The special livery will adorn a Boeing 767-300 (aircraft registration JA609A), which operates on ANA's regular domestic routes. The fuselage will showcase eight characters, including Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, set against backgrounds inspired by Japan's iconic seasonal landscapes and elements.

Even the seat headrest covers inside the cabin will feature the Chiikawa characters from this special jet.
※Please note: Headrest covers cannot be taken home.

Passengers will also enjoy hot and cold beverages in limited-edition paper cups, adorned with Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi.

But wait, there's more! ANA is also planning to release a series of exclusive Chiikawa collaboration merchandise, featuring the characters dressed in ANA uniforms and sporting designs unique to this partnership. Further details on these items will be revealed at a later date.
