"Pokémon Bank" Service Shutting Down in February 2027, Ending Over a Decade of Player Memories

Get ready to say goodbye! The "Pokémon Bank" service for Nintendo 3DS, which allowed trainers to manage their captured Pokémon online, is officially closing its doors. The Pokémon Company announced on its official website on the 13th that the service will cease operations on February 26, 2027, at 12:00 PM JST.

The "Pokémon Transporter" feature, which lets you move your precious Pokémon from "Pokémon Bank" to "Pokémon HOME," will also be discontinued on the same day. So, if you've got 'em, move 'em!

The official announcement stated: "Thank you all for your continued support and love for the Pokémon series. This time, Pokémon Bank will end its service on Friday, February 26, 2027, at 12:00 PM JST."

The Pokémon Company is urging all trainers who want to keep their Pokémon currently stored in "Pokémon Bank" to transfer them to "Pokémon HOME" before the service officially shuts down. Don't miss your chance!

A few crucial points to remember: "Pokémon Bank" is no longer available for new downloads. Also, you can't transfer Pokémon back from "Pokémon HOME" to "Pokémon Bank." And sorry, "Poké Miles" earned in Bank won't make the jump to HOME either.

For those unfamiliar, "Pokémon Bank" was a network service for the Nintendo 3DS "Pokémon" game series. It allowed players to deposit their captured Pokémon into a dedicated online storage box and withdraw them anytime. Essentially, it was the go-to way to carry your most cherished Pokémon forward into newer game titles.

Its successor, the cloud-based "Pokémon HOME," launched in 2020. This service lets players deposit and withdraw Pokémon caught in previous Nintendo 3DS "Pokémon" titles, as well as "Pokémon GO." Plus, it enables trading with other players and transferring Pokémon to compatible game software.

Following the shutdown of the Nintendo 3DS "Nintendo eShop" service, "Pokémon Bank" passes stopped being sold on March 28, 2023. While "Pokémon Bank" continued to operate afterward, The Pokémon Company has consistently urged players to transfer their Pokémon from "Pokémon Bank" to "Pokémon HOME."

So, here's the bottom line: if you still have Pokémon chilling in "Pokémon Bank," February 26, 2027, at 12:00 PM JST is your absolute last chance. Trainers who want to keep their beloved companions need to complete the transfer before that deadline hits!
