Detective Conan, the manga series celebrating its 30th anime anniversary this year, is still going strong! With its 29th movie, "Detective Conan: The Fallen Angel of the Highway," hitting theaters soon, it's clear this evergreen franchise hasn't lost an ounce of its charm over the decades.
Series creator Gosho Aoyama recently appeared on NTV's "24-Hour Television: Love Saves the Earth" pre-special, "24-Hour Television Latest Info SP." Besides sharing insights into Detective Conan's creation, he dropped a bombshell: the final chapter's storyboards are already complete! He even teased that they look "really good," sparking massive fan speculation. Is Aoyama-sensei truly ready to wrap things up?

Aoyama-sensei designed the charity T-shirts for "24-Hour Television: Love Saves the Earth." Superfans Chanmina and SixTONES' Taiga Kyomoto, who grew up with Conan, were thrilled to visit his studio for an exclusive interview.

When Chanmina asked, "Did you ever imagine Conan would become this beloved?" Aoyama candidly replied, "No, not at all. I honestly thought it would end pretty quickly, either getting axed or me running out of ideas."

He revealed that the first time he truly grasped Conan's immense popularity was when the first movie hit theaters. "That's when it finally clicked for me: 'Wow, people really love this series!'" Now, Aoyama laughs, "It's still airing every week!"
He also shared a fun tidbit about chatting with One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda. "We talked about how it's probably just the two of us who get to see our manga animated and broadcast every single week," Aoyama recounted.

Then, Chanmina posed a thought-provoking question: "I'm someone who always thinks from the end. Even living my current life, I'm already thinking about retirement. Do you have a similar mindset, sensei?"
To everyone's surprise, Gosho Aoyama flashed a knowing smile and replied, "The final chapter's storyboards are already drawn! Want to see them? (laughs)" This instantly confirmed that the completed final storyboards for Detective Conan do indeed exist.
Chanmina immediately leaned forward, buzzing with excitement, "Really?! Can I?!" Taiga Kyomoto quickly chimed in, "Usually, you don't actually take that offer seriously!" Seeing their reactions, Aoyama-sensei playfully chuckled, "They're really good, you know! (laughs)"

Aoyama's revelation on the show has, of course, sent fans into a frenzy of speculation about the series' future. When will we finally see Conan's journey head towards its grand finale? Only Aoyama-sensei knows how he'll orchestrate the ultimate conclusion.
