Yukinobu Tatsu's Dandadan has been on a tear since its anime adaptation premiered in October 2024, building an increasingly global following along the way. In April 2026, the series announced a collaboration with the UK-based Atlassian Williams F1 Team, bringing Japanese anime and Formula 1 culture together in one unexpected crossover.
Now the project is shifting into another gear, with TWICE member TZUYU joining as the collaboration's official theme song performer. The completely original track is being created specifically for the project and is expected to debut around the 2027 Japanese Grand Prix.
The Dandadan and Atlassian Williams F1 Team collaboration is part of Williams' official pop-culture initiative, Sector Zero, built around the theme “Speed Meets Supernatural.”
The project first launched at the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka in April 2026. In July, a specially liveried Dandadan F1 car was unveiled at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles, drawing plenty of attention at the event. Following stops in Suzuka and Los Angeles, the crossover is now expanding into music.
According to the organizers, TZUYU's theme song will be a completely original track created for the collaboration. Her voice will bring the Speed Meets Supernatural world of Atlassian Williams F1 Team × Dandadan to life through music.
The song's title and official release date have yet to be announced, but its rollout is planned to coincide with the 2027 Japanese Grand Prix. An original music video is also in production, with more details to be revealed at a later date.
TZUYU will also appear at the Singapore Grand Prix as the collaboration enters its next phase. New merchandise featuring Kokone has also been announced. Alongside online sales, the collection will be displayed and sold at the Fan Zone presented by Kraken pop-up during the Singapore Grand Prix.
Luke Timmins, Merchandise and Licensing Director at Atlassian Williams F1 Team, said TZUYU's voice was an ideal fit for a collaboration centered on supernatural speed. He added that her involvement marks an important step for the project, giving it an opportunity to reach beyond motorsport and connect with new fans around the world. He also said the team looks forward to seeing how the theme song ultimately comes together.
Dandadan producer Hiroshi Kamei said he was delighted to see the series join forces with global partners including Atlassian Williams F1 Team and TZUYU for a new challenge extending beyond anime. By bringing Dandadan together with Formula 1 and music, he hopes the series' intense speed and energy will reach even more people while opening new possibilities through connections with cultures around the world.
TZUYU said she was honored and excited to take part in the collaboration between Atlassian Williams F1 Team and Dandadan and to perform its official theme song. She described the project, which brings together Formula 1, anime, and music, as “very special,” adding that she hopes it will deliver an exciting and unforgettable experience for fans worldwide.
She also noted that Atlassian Williams F1 Team has a long history and proven record in Formula 1, while Dandadan has won over global audiences with its distinctive visual style and fast-paced storytelling. “I am very excited to see how these two worlds will come together and how that combination will be transformed into something entirely new through the official theme song and music video,” she said.
