"The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" Celebrates Its Anime's 20th Anniversary With Limited-Edition Haruhi and Yuki Watches

Created by author Nagaru Tanigawa, the Haruhi Suzumiya series is a light novel classic—and for plenty of anime and light novel fans, it was the gateway that started it all.

With the anime celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, watchmaker TOEI has unveiled two commemorative watches inspired by lead character Haruhi Suzumiya and Yuki Nagato. Each is priced at ¥29,700 and limited to 2,006 pieces, with preorders opening October 8, 2026, through the FULTON JAPAN online store.

Created to mark 20 years since the TV anime "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" first aired, the anniversary collection features two designs: the Haruhi Suzumiya Model and the Yuki Nagato Model.

The dial is intricately decorated with formulas, symbols, benzene rings, and other details evoking physics and mathematics. Alongside the polished look of a stylish chronograph, every inch of the design channels the TV anime's unmistakable sense of the extraordinary.

At the four o'clock position is an original calendar display inspired by Endless Eight. It runs from the 17th through the 31st before switching to the infinity symbol, then starts the cycle all over again—a clever nod to one of the series' most unforgettable story arcs.

Two small diamonds are also set into the dial, adding a touch of sparkle worthy of the 20th-anniversary milestone. The second hand, meanwhile, takes its design cues from the SOS Brigade emblem.

The subdial at the nine o'clock position features a map and an original H-shaped hand. Watching the H travel across the map offers a subtle tribute to the SOS Brigade—Spreading Excitement All Over the World with Haruhi Suzumiya's Brigade—and its wonderfully unconventional worldview.

Each watch includes two interchangeable straps: a sleek metal bracelet and a more understated leather strap. Owners can swap between them to match their outfit or mood, giving the watch two distinctly different looks.

The case back is engraved with the TV anime "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" 20th-anniversary logo, an individual edition number marking the limited run of 2,006 pieces, and the words "Japanese Movement."

Each watch arrives in a dedicated 20th-anniversary commemorative box wrapped in premium PU material and stamped with the anniversary logo in gold foil.

The package also includes a specially designed warranty card and a display stand for showing off the watch.

Beyond the standard accessories, the Haruhi Suzumiya and Yuki Nagato models each come with an exclusive bonus tailored to the character.

The Haruhi edition includes an SOS Brigade leader's armband-style ribbon strap that can be attached to the watch box, while the Yuki edition comes with a custom bookmark made especially for the book-loving character. Both are made with collectors firmly in mind.
