After 46 years, Kinnikuman still packs the same winning combination of hot-blooded action and offbeat comedy. The series remains hugely popular in Japan, cementing its status as a true multigenerational franchise.
On October 1, the official team announced the Kinnikuman Chojin General Election 2026, with voting open through October 12. The poll celebrates Bandai Namco Entertainment’s upcoming smartphone game, Kinnikuman Muscle Tag Match Reiwa Fukkatsu-hen, which is scheduled to launch in Japan in fall 2026. Fans will get to vote for the Chojin they want to see join the game’s roster.

Kinnikuman Muscle Tag Match Reiwa Fukkatsu-hen is an upgraded version of Kinnikuman: Muscle Tag Match, the action game Bandai released for the Nintendo Famicom in 1985. Veteran players will likely have plenty of memories of this retro favorite.
Now making the leap from Famicom to mobile, the upgraded edition expands the original roster from eight playable Chojin to 50 and supports two-player battles via Bluetooth. Pre-registration is already open, though the exact release date is still being finalized.

Every Chojin who has appeared in the manga through its latest chapter is eligible for the poll. The characters ranked first through 20th, along with those placing 29th and 50th, will earn spots in Kinnikuman Muscle Tag Match Reiwa Fukkatsu-hen. The official voting website is now live.

Voting closes on October 12, so head over soon, back your favorite Chojin, and give them a shot at entering the ring in this Reiwa-era revival!
