Gintama is dusting off one of its longest-running gags, and this time, it is turning it into a full-blown wedding! The official account has announced the Gintama × ON THE PAGE "Wedding Memories" collaboration event, launching October 30, 2026. Gintoki, Kagura, Otae, and the rest of the crew are dressed to the nines, but the real scene-stealers are Isao Kondo and Princess Bubbles, posing together like the happy bride and groom.
This is hardly the first time the official franchise has reunited its infamous gorilla engagement duo. Back in 2019, the Gintama crossover with the mobile game Monster Strike introduced Isao Kondo and Princess Bubbles as an official pair. Now that they are back together for a wedding-themed event years later, longtime fans immediately got the joke.
The comments quickly turned into a very Gintama-style wedding reception. One fan laughed, "It really is Kondo and Princess Bubbles' wedding," while another wrote, "I never thought I would almost cry watching someone else's wedding." One especially thoughtful guest even offered a gift: "Congratulations, Mr. Kondo. I'll bring you bananas."
After seeing Kondo looking unusually respectable in formalwear, another fan joked, "There's no way this version of Kondo would crap himself." The event will run through November 29, 2026, with tickets going on sale October 13 at 6 p.m. JST.
