On October 2, the management team behind Japanese VTuber group Aogiri High School announced through its official X account, Aogiri High School Staff Room, that member Komaru Kurikoma would be suspending her activities effective immediately. No timetable has been set for her return.
The sudden announcement left many fans stunned. With management also stating that the matter involves contractual details, concern quickly spread across the community.

Komaru Kurikoma is a second-year student in the VTuber group Aogiri High School. She began her activities in August 2021 and currently has more than 480,000 YouTube subscribers. Best known for her versatile voice and ASMR content, she is also an experienced talk and gaming streamer. She is a devoted Fate/Grand Order fan and has openly admitted to spending heavily on the game.
According to the announcement, management reached the decision to place Kurikoma on hiatus after holding discussions with her. The length of the suspension has not yet been determined. As the matter involves contractual details, management said it would not disclose further information at this time.
The team also asked the public not to direct questions about the matter to Komaru Kurikoma herself or any other members of the group. Management apologized to fans and other parties affected by the sudden announcement.
Even senior Aogiri High School member Tamako Otodama said she was confused by the situation. She explained that the abrupt news had left her needing time to process her emotions, especially given her close relationship with Kurikoma.
Management said any further developments would be announced through the group’s official account at a later date. It also pledged to continue working toward an environment where its members can remain focused on their activities.
