Sylvester Stallone recently made no secret of the fact that his youngest daughter, Scarlet Rose Stallone, landed a recurring role on his crime drama "Tulsa King" because he pulled strings for her. Stallone was unapologetic, saying, "Oh, please. You’re not a good parent if you haven’t performed a little nepotism. Then obviously you don’t care about your kids, because they come first." Still, he stressed that parents can only open the door. Whether their children can build lasting careers is ultimately up to them.

Coincidentally, Jessica Biel was recently asked about the same issue while promoting her new film "Matchbox The Movie." Her 11-year-old son with Justin Timberlake, Silas Timberlake, pictured below, makes a cameo in the film, but Biel does not want him thinking his parents’ connections can automatically secure any acting opportunity he wants.

Biel said, "Silas is a DJ. He’s very musically talented, and he makes a lot of really cool music. He just has that gift and a natural interest in music. He’s also very funny, with this big, theatrical, slapstick quality. He recently told us he wants to be an actor, too, so it comes up a lot." Knowing how difficult the entertainment industry can be, Biel initially had reservations about letting Silas pursue acting. "I don’t want to crush my child’s dreams, even though part of me kind of does. I’m thinking, ‘Please don’t become an actor! Do anything else—just don’t become an actor! It’s so hard!’"

Biel continued, "I also talked to Silas about how there are kids who work really hard. They go to acting classes, they take theater classes and they put in all that effort. You can’t just take a role away from somebody because you’re my son. That isn’t fair, and we’re not going to let you do that. This opportunity on ‘Matchbox The Movie’ was special because the role was really tiny. If he had a big monologue, I wouldn’t have let him do it. He would have to earn that role, because we’re not starting that. We’re not going to say, ‘You get handed a bunch of opportunities just because you’re part of this family.’ No way. We’re not doing that."
