Hey everyone, today we're unboxing and sharing a look at Good Smile Company's Hatsune Miku V4 Chinese figure!
After Hatsune Miku evolved to her V4 iteration, a Chinese version was developed to cater to the massive Chinese-speaking market. While I personally found the vocaloid's Chinese voice a bit unfamiliar, the visual design for this version is absolutely stunning!
The Chinese version incorporates several traditional Chinese cultural elements into her overall design, giving her a distinct look compared to her original official outfit.
The original key visual was illustrated by artist "Mamenomoto" (豆の素). I personally feel that the figure's face sculpt is softer and cuter compared to the original artwork, showing a clear difference. You can compare for yourselves and see if you prefer the original illustration's style or the figure's interpretation.
Let's dive into the photos below!
The outer box features a clean, bright white base, accented with geometric patterns that add a touch of futuristic flair. The sides of the box showcase both the original artwork and the actual figure, allowing you to easily spot the differences.

The contents include the main figure body, her twin-tails, and the display base.

A full 360-degree look at the main figure:

Regarding the details, you generally don't have to worry too much with a Good Smile Company release. However, I do wish the hair sculpt on the head had a bit more definition; the ends feel a little soft and almost blend together.

In contrast, the twin-tails are exceptionally well-detailed and convey a fantastic sense of motion, appearing much more dynamic than her original V4 design.

Her outfit features numerous small details that incorporate or replace elements with traditional Chinese knot designs. Both sleeves and her long stockings have slit designs reminiscent of a qipao, and her shoes have been redesigned in a style similar to embroidered slippers. Overall, the integration of Chinese cultural elements into the details is quite thoughtful and well-executed.

The display base itself is directly designed with a Chinese knot pattern. You might notice a gradient color difference; that's because the base is detachable and can be configured as a thinner version, much like what's shown on the side of the box. I just forgot to snap a picture of that configuration!

That pretty much covers the main features! While the Chinese version is based on her original official outfit, the addition of Chinese cultural elements truly gives her a unique charm. Plus, I personally find her overall facial sculpt incredibly cute, so fellow collectors who like her should definitely consider adding her to their collection!
