Relive a pivotal naval battle! Kaiyodo, the Japanese toy company, is renowned for its "CapsuleQ Museum" (カプセルQ ミュージアム) capsule toy series, which packs intricate detail into small-scale collectibles. In December 2021, the series is set to launch a new installment in its beloved battleship line: the fifth volume of the "World Ship Deforme" (ワールドシップデフォルメ) series, focusing on the Battle of Midway.
The Battle of Midway was a pivotal engagement in the Pacific War. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. Navy had largely been on the defensive. However, at Midway, they successfully shifted from defense to offense, destroying several Japanese warships, turning the tide of the war and ultimately paving the way for Allied victory. This battle is widely regarded as a critical turning point.
This fifth installment of Kaiyodo's "World Ship Deforme" series features five distinct items. It includes the famous Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft carrier Akagi, as well as the U.S. Navy's Yorktown-class aircraft carrier CV-6 USS Enterprise, affectionately known as "Big E." Also included are miniature models of the Imperial Japanese Navy's Zero Fighter Type 21 and the U.S. Navy's SBD Dauntless dive bomber, which can be displayed on the ship models. Each item also comes with a display stand featuring the ship's name.
