International collectibles brand Star Ace Toys, in collaboration with Japan's X-Plus, is expanding its "Wonders of the Wild" series. Following the releases of the Woolly Mammoth and Brontosaurus, the third entry in the lineup is the incredibly ancient fish, the Coelacanth! It is slated for release in the first quarter of 2022.
Measuring approximately 28.5 cm long, this piece features the Coelacanth itself paired with a deep-sea environment display base, creating the visual effect of a museum exhibit. The sculpting and painting were handled by SEAN COOPER and Japan's KAIBUTSUYA (Monster House), respectively. Every detail, from the highly realistic scales and textures on its body to the flowing fins, gaping mouth, and translucent eyeballs, brings a vibrant sense of life to the figure. The rocky base also showcases intricate colors and textures, further enhanced by a nameplate detailing the Coelacanth's information, elevating the overall presentation.
In addition to the Coelacanth figure, the accompanying "Coelacanth Fossil Slab" is another incredibly cool collectible. Measuring 32 cm long, it can be displayed freestanding or mounted on a wall, and looks even more impressive when showcased alongside the Coelacanth figure!
