LEGO officially announced three new sets from Disney Pixar's animated film "Lightyear" yesterday evening! These exciting new additions, numbered 76830, 76831, and 76832, are sure to get fans ready for adventure.
"Lightyear" is directed by Angus MacLane, co-director of "Finding Dory," and delves into the origin story of the legendary Space Ranger who inspired the iconic Buzz Lightyear toy. Positioned as a spin-off from the beloved "Toy Story" franchise, this film explores a distinct universe, with Chris Evans lending his voice to portray a younger, intrepid Buzz.
All three of these new LEGO sets follow a "vehicle + minifigure" format. Highlights include the incredibly sleek XL-15 Starfighter, the formidable robot Zurg, and the yellow Zyclops mech, all of which were prominently featured in the film's trailers. The minifigure lineup is equally impressive, featuring two different versions of Buzz, Izzy Hawthorne, and SOX the emotional support robot cat, among others. The detailed printing on the character outfits, the unique torso pieces, and Buzz Lightyear's signature wings are all fantastic, leaving us eager to see if even larger sets will be released in the future!
