Following the release of their "Mammoth," "Plesiosaur," and "Coelacanth" figures, international collectible brand Star Ace Toys, in collaboration with Japanese X-Plus, has just unveiled their latest addition to the "Wonders of the Wild" series: the incredible "Dunkleosteus" statue! It's slated for a Q3 2022 release.

The Dunkleosteus was the largest placoderm during the Devonian period, reigning as the most colossal apex marine predator of its era. Estimates suggest these formidable fish could reach lengths approaching 9 meters, with a distinctive feature being the hard, thick armor plating protecting their heads. This impressive statue measures approximately 42 cm long. Much like the previously released Coelacanth, it features a highly detailed fish body mounted on a deep-sea themed diorama base, creating a museum-quality display. The sculpt was masterfully crafted by SEAN COOPER, with paint application handled by Japan's KAIBUTSUYA (Monster House). The piece perfectly captures the Dunkleosteus's wide-open mouth and sharp fins, complemented by incredibly realistic and stunning biological gradient coloring across its surface.

The diorama base itself is vibrantly colored, and a closer inspection reveals bright blue smaller fish, seemingly just moments from being engulfed by the Dunkleosteus's massive jaws. Also making its debut alongside the statue is the "Dunkleosteus Fossil Slab," which also measures 42 cm in length. This fossil slab will make an excellent display piece, whether paired with the Dunkleosteus figure or showcased independently!
