Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's division, TAMASHII NATIONS, is set to release the highly anticipated "Chogokin XL-15 SPACE SHIP," Buzz Lightyear's iconic craft from the hit Disney Pixar animated film "Lightyear"! This impressive collectible will retail for 14,300 JPY (tax included) and is slated for a July 2022 release.
The spin-off film from the "Toy Story" series, "Lightyear," delves into the origin story of the real-life astronaut who inspired the beloved toy Buzz Lightyear. It chronicles his journey from test pilot to Space Ranger, existing in a distinct universe separate from the "Toy Story" films. The younger Buzz Lightyear is voiced by Chris Evans in the movie. The film premiered on June 17.
The "Chogokin XL-15 SPACE SHIP" is meticulously crafted based on its appearance in the new animated film, featuring a premium die-cast alloy construction. The alloy body boasts rich paint applications and intricate sculpting, measuring approximately 24 cm in length. The set also includes adorable mini-figures of Buzz Lightyear (both standing and piloting versions) and a mini Zurg figure for dynamic display options! Additionally, the specialized display stand is designed to resemble a landing gear, allowing collectors to showcase the XL-15 in various soaring poses.
