LEGO's "Ideas" series recently announced its latest creation, the "21335 Motorised Lighthouse," which was originally submitted by Sandro Quattrini on the LEGO IDEAS platform, garnered ten thousand votes, and has now been officially commercialized! It is scheduled for release on September 1, 2022.
This set comprises a total of 2065 pieces, maintaining the two core elements Sandro initially aimed to infuse into his creation: "light" and "motion." However, the commercialized "21335 Motorised Lighthouse" features significant changes in its appearance, including simplified cliffs, a drastically altered color scheme and window structure for the lighthouse body. On the other hand, the house section has gained numerous decorations, and a small boat along with LEGO minifigure-scale lighthouse keepers and a sailor have been added. Unfortunately, the small, intricate staircase that this editor personally adored has been replaced with the larger-interval stairs commonly found in LEGO products, which is quite a pity.
Once assembled, this LEGO lighthouse stands at an impressive 54 cm, making it a truly commanding presence. Beyond admiring its beautiful exterior and the cliff cave from the front, you can also turn it around to peek at the lighthouse's interior and lift the cottage roof for play. Coupled with the new "special threaded lens element," a light brick in the fireplace, and the components that provide power and motion to the lighthouse—the battery box (6380609), medium motor (6290183), and cable with lights (6238858)—this LEGO model gains an even more immersive atmosphere. We eagerly anticipate the moment of activating the hidden switch in the cave and watching the lighthouse come to life!
