Japanese model manufacturer Sentinel has officially unveiled today the full details of its latest product from the "Getter Robo" series, the "Shin Getter Dragon," part of its popular die-cast action figure series "RIOBOT." It is scheduled for release in July 2023.
This release of the Shin Getter Dragon differs from previous "The Last Day" and "Great Battle" versions, adopting the same "DYNAMIC PLANNING Original Machine" setting as seen in "Super Robot Wars 30." It is the ultimate Getter Robo developed by Dr. Saotome and is a distinct machine from Shin Dragon. While this machine does not possess transformation and combination mechanisms like other Getters, it can utilize powerful Getter Rays to alter its body structure. When piloted by Ryoma, it can wield two Getter Tomahawks and fire Getter Beams. When piloted by Hayato, it can perform the "Shin Liger Attack," reminiscent of Getter Liger, using arm drills and back thrusters. When piloted by Benkei, it can perform the "Shin Poseidon Attack," reminiscent of Getter Poseidon, utilizing Getter Cyclone and Steel Finger Net to unleash the Great Avalanche.
The "RIOBOT Shin Getter Dragon" features a full-body paint application with a profound, heavy texture. Its overall style continues from the previously released "Shin Getter 1," boasting sharp sculpting and a more layered design with intricate details and armor separation. Its articulation range is touted as the highest among all RIOBOT Getter Robo figures to date, and it comes with an abundant array of weapon accessories to recreate various powerful special move scenes.
Accessories include two signature giant Getter Tomahawks (long and short). Both arms and the back can be fitted with drills and large thrusters, respectively, to recreate the "Shin Liger Attack" pose. Furthermore, the back thrusters can be attached to both arms to recreate giant hands, or they can be attached to the Getter Tomahawk handles for use as hammer-type weapons.
