The latest installment in the Gundam series, "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," set to premiere this October, recently announced that its anime will be available on the official YouTube channel and other major platforms starting September 1, 2022. Furthermore, a mysterious countdown teaser was revealed, set to conclude on September 4, Japan time, at 17:30.
The story of "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury" is set in A.S. (Ad Stella) 122, an era when countless corporations have expanded into space, building a massive economic sphere. The protagonist is a girl named Suletta Mercury, who transfers from the remote planet Mercury to Asticassia School of Technology, operated by the Benerit Group, the leading company in the mobile suit industry. With a pure and innocent heart glowing with a crimson light, the girl will step by step enter a new world. Hiroshi Kobayashi will serve as director, and Ichiro Okouchi will be responsible for the series composition and screenplay.
The plot of the prequel "PROLOGUE" is extremely crucial for the main TV anime series. It can be said to depict the background of the protagonist, Suletta Mercury, and her connection to "Gundam," making viewers even more curious about why she became this person and what purpose she has in coming to this school.
Although the prequel was first screened on July 14 this year at the official "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE-LINK THE UNIVERSE-" event, this marks its official global online release.
