Japan's renowned toy company "STAND STONES" (スタンド・ストーンズ, abbreviated as stasto), in collaboration with Japanese sculptor Yusuke Okada, is releasing the cute and amusing "Goya Kaiju" gashapon. There are a total of 6 variations, with a reference price of 400 JPY per capsule, and they are scheduled to be released in December 2022!
Japanese sculptor Yusuke Okada, a member of the design team Toy Fields, originally specialized in hyperrealistic sculpture and special effects makeup. He gained popularity after creating the "Goya Kaiju," which combines the bumpy, textured surface of a withered bitter gourd with monster design, leading to a series of popular soft vinyl and 3D printed works.
The "stasto Goya Kaiju" gashapon, ranging from 5 to 9 cm in size, faithfully recreates the unique texture and form of the Goya Kaiju, just like a bitter gourd. The collection features various everyday monster poses, including an attacking standing pose, a resting sitting pose, curled up sleeping, and a menacing arched-back stance. There is also a white bitter gourd painted version, making a total of 6 types. The bitter gourd cross-section face is particularly amusing, and when paired with its massive hand and foot claws, it creates a charming contrast!
