Published by Japan's CAPCOM company, the 'Monster Hunter' statue series, 'CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER Creator's Model,' which collaborates with renowned monster sculptors, today announced its latest product, 'Nargacuga,' scheduled for release in March 2023.
The highly popular Nargacuga (ナルガクルガ) first appeared in 'Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G,' released in 2008. Its design combines features of a black panther and a bat, inhabiting dense, lush forests. It is sensitive to light but possesses acute hearing, and is cunning and warlike by nature. Once enraged, its eyes glow red, making it even more ferocious. Although a Flying Wyvern, its entire body is covered in dark fur, allowing it to completely lurk in the shadows, ambushing prey when the opportunity arises. When it launches an attack, its agile body leaps and weaves through the trees, making it elusive. Its sharp blade-wings can easily sever large trees, and its powerful tail is capable of crushing bones. Furthermore, its tail can launch sharp spines to snipe prey from a distance.
The 'CFB Creator's Model Nargacuga' is sculpted by Yoshiyuki Higashi, who has previously worked on numerous CFB statues including Nergigante and Gore Magala. This piece renders in three dimensions Nargacuga in its enraged state, perched on a branch, poised to ambush its prey. The intricate sculpting meticulously recreates its fierce head, the dark scales covering its body, its blade-like sharp wingblades, and its spiky tail resembling an enraged cat's fur. The tree branch base also features detailed sculpting of mushrooms, moss, and vines, reminding players of their encounters with Nargacuga in the dense jungle.
