When you think of relentless and persistent fictional characters, the one and only "King Bowser," who has made it his life's mission to kidnap Princess Peach with the ultimate goal of overthrowing the Mushroom Kingdom, is an absolute classic! This Toy-People unboxing review is all about the LEGO set scheduled for release on October 1, 2022, from the LEGO Super Mario product line: 71411 The Mighty Bowser!

Developed jointly by LEGO and Nintendo, the LEGO Super Mario series focuses on allowing players to enjoy video game-like fun in the real world. This "71411 The Mighty Bowser" set not only includes the imposing Bowser figure itself but also features a gray-themed battle platform with several mechanisms and an Action Tag that interacts with the Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach Starter Course figures. Pairing it with other courses and characters truly maximizes the fun of this set! So, let's start playing with this largest-ever creation from the LEGO Super Mario series.
▼ The front of the box features a black background that makes the main subject stand out. Besides Bowser and his platform in the center, the LEGO and Super Mario logos are on the bottom left and right, respectively.

▼ The back shows Bowser from different angles and highlights the play features. The completed Bowser figure stands at a height of 29 cm—a truly impressive size!

▼ On the top, you can see the 1:1 scale part showcase, which this time is the Bowser logo, presented on a 2×2 round printed tile. The high-contrast black and red is incredibly cool.

▼ The side is printed with a close-up of the LEGO Bowser, looking absolutely menacing.

▼ This set contains a total of 2807 pieces, with bags numbered up to 22, plus one unnumbered bag of baseplate parts.

▼ The front of the instruction manual follows the same style as the box. Inside, in addition to an introduction to the model, there's a history of Bowser in the "Super Mario" video games and a look at his various forms in the LEGO Super Mario series. The adorable Koopalings also make an appearance!

▼ Now, let's start building! GO~~~
▼ The border of the shell is first assembled into a long white strip and then secured using Technic parts. The process is quite therapeutic and clever!

▼ The legs are my favorite part of the Bowser build. Not only do they have a chunky appearance, but the internal support structure is also fantastic. In the image below, a white bar piece slides into the groove of the right half, and then a pin is inserted through the black and gray Technic parts—it's super sturdy!

▼ In addition to the new spike pieces on the shell, the curvature is also captured with great precision.

▼ The unfinished head! The eyes are printed directly on cylindrical parts, which looks really bizarre at this stage!

▼ The large, specialized parts in this set. The top two are used for the joints, and the bottom one is the launcher mechanism located inside the mouth.

Now, let's take a look at the completed LEGO Bowser figure from all angles! With its precise accuracy to the source material, vibrant colors, and substantial presence, its incredible design is absolutely worthy of the Great Demon King!

▼ The arms rotate via joints at the shoulders, allowing them to be raised, lowered, and spread out to the sides. The elbows use click joints to achieve a bending motion.

▼ The palms and fingers can also rotate! Using cylindrical parts typically for tree trunks as fingers—truly befitting our King Bowser!

▼ Two ball joints are used here to support the weight of the arms.

▼ To be able to create such a beautiful shell texture with LEGO parts, complemented by the newly molded spike pieces, can only be described as a feast for the eyes.

▼ Another close-up of the awesome legs! They're so short and cute.

▼ Next, let's look at the head. From the snout and chin to the cheeks, curved parts are used to faithfully outline Bowser's facial contours!

▼ The design that links the head's rotation to an internal mechanism can also be seen on the body's surface.

▼ The articulated eyebrows and eyes allow you to create a variety of expressions!

▼ You can control the opening and closing of his mouth using the mechanism on the sides of his body! He can also shoot a fireball~

▼ The fireball effect for his mouth is huge! We brought in our friend Emmet for scale.

▼ This Bowser model has another fantastic design detail! Not only does he stand firmly, but when you pick him up, he faithfully recreates his jumping pose from the video games, with his legs tucked in and his tail hanging down—it's super cute.

▼ Next up is the beautifully designed battle platform.

▼ The texture created by the tiled parts is excellent, and the gold and red color scheme in the center gives it a palatial feel. You can also reveal the Action Tag that interacts with the LEGO Super Mario Starter Course figures.

▼ There's a hidden POW Block in the left tower.

▼ Displaying Bowser and the platform together doubles the impact!

The incredibly complete Bowser figure, plus the great-looking and fun-to-play-with battle platform, truly looks amazing no matter how you pose it~

▼ The tail can rest perfectly on the ground, so cute~

▼ Fire breath!

[71411 The Mighty Bowser] Unboxing Summary:
"To create such a huge Bowser, we had to use new types of elements that appear in cars, boats, and spaceships, which would not have been possible a few years ago." Just as the designer mentioned at the beginning of the manual, this Bowser is truly stunning in appearance. While balancing aesthetics and articulation, it remains incredibly sturdy, making the play experience fantastic. Even if you've never bought a LEGO Super Mario set before, we absolutely recommend this if you love playing the "Super Mario" games. And if you're a loyal fan of the series, you'd better start clearing a space to bring this heavyweight villain home on October 1st!
