BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division, Japan, known for its highly articulated Gunpla "MG (Master Grade)" series, which incorporates the latest technology and complete part separation, today announced the latest product from the MSV side story "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ECLIPSE": the "MG 1/100 Eclipse Gundam Raijin Equipment," scheduled for release in November 2022. Simultaneously, the "MG 1/100 Eclipse Gundam Raijin Striker Pack," which does not include the Eclipse Gundam main unit, will also be released.
The Eclipse Gundam's new enhanced equipment, the "Raijin Striker Pack," was designed by mechanical designer Junichi Akutsu. Its design is based on an improved and redesigned version of the Lightning Striker Pack previously used by the Strike Gundam. In addition to possessing self-flight capability and a large-capacity battery, it is also equipped with two high-power "71-XX Indirect Fire Beam Cannons" that utilize the characteristics of Mirage Colloid particles. When combined with the Eclipse Gundam, it can activate the "OVER DRIVE" function, deploying all thrusters and instantly significantly boosting propulsion.
The "MG 1/100 Eclipse Gundam Raijin Equipment" kit includes the Eclipse Gundam main unit with some altered molding colors, and the Raijin Striker Pack reproduced with new parts. The Eclipse Gundam's parts have been changed to a matte molding color, showcasing a different style from the regular version. The Raijin Striker Pack precisely reproduces the intricately shaped two indirect fire beam cannons, rear thrusters, and more. It can transform into a flight form on its own. When combined with the Eclipse Gundam, it can deploy some armor and thruster blades to reproduce the "OVER DRIVE" function. Furthermore, even after the Eclipse Gundam transforms into its MA (Mobile Armor) form, it can still equip the Raijin Pack, presenting a more substantial appearance.
