The 'HG (High Grade)' series of 1/144 scale Gunpla, known for its diverse range of mobile suits and produced by Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division, today announced the latest product from the mobile game "Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. ENGAGE", the "Gundam Development Test Unit 0 ENGAGE ZERO", scheduled for release in January 2023. This product will be sold exclusively on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The RX-78MS00Z Gundam Development Test Unit 0, with development code "ENGAGE ZERO", is set as one of the mobile suits developed by Anaheim Electronics (AE Co.) under the 'Gundam Development Project' commissioned by the Earth Federation Forces after the One Year War in the Universal Century. Due to the Earth Federation Forces' initially strict requirements for this project, AE Co. proposed many different plans in addition to the Gundam Prototype Unit 0 "BLOSSOM". One of these was the ENGAGE ZERO, specialized for assault attacks and anti-MS combat. This mobile suit's design integrates technologies from both the Federation and Zeon forces, equipped with standard armaments such as a beam rifle, beam saber, and shield. It features a lightweight armor design and achieves excellent reaction speed through magnetic coating technology.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Development Test Unit 0 ENGAGE ZERO" utilizes completely new parts to recreate its smooth, Zeon-style white armor. It features precise color separation and part division to accurately reproduce the white, red, blue, and yellow armor colors in multiple areas. It also incorporates the latest designs such as pull-out shoulder joints and movable hip joints to provide a flexible range of motion. The rear skirt armor further recreates the deployment mechanism for its internal thrusters. For armaments, in addition to the included beam rifle, beam saber, and shield, a backpack with additional large thrusters is also produced and can be swapped, recreating the equipment change mechanism from the game. A clear stand is also included among the accessories to enhance stability when equipped with the large thrusters.
