World-renowned film and television special effects company "WETA Workshop"'s vinyl figure series "MINI EPICS" has released its latest products from "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey": "Thorin Oakenshield" and "Azog". This article will bring you product information on the terrifying Orc leader, "Azog The Defiler"!
Azog, the terrifying leader who ruled the Orcs of the Misty Mountains, brutally murdered the Dwarf King Thrór in the original lore, sparking a series of brutal battles between Dwarves and Orcs. Azog ultimately met his end at the Battle of Azanulbizar, beneath the mighty axe of Dáin Ironfoot. However, the "The Hobbit" film series made significant adaptations to the battles between Azog and the Dwarves. While retaining the detail of him beheading Thrór, it added elements where he had his arm severed by Thorin Oakenshield instead of dying in battle, and his role as Thorin's mortal enemy. Azog ultimately died by Thorin's Orcrist.
The "MINI EPICS Azog" stands approximately 16.2 cm tall. Based on "The Hobbit" film series' design, it recreates his pale skin and body covered in scars. However, this rendition depicts him with both hands intact, showcasing Azog holding a mace in his right hand and cradling a white Warg, transformed to the size of a puppy, in his left arm. Beyond his fiercely menacing facial expression, the robust muscle lines and detailed sculpting of his armor are excellent, collectively conveying his formidable presence as an Orc leader!
