BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division, a Japanese company, has announced the latest product from the most diverse 1/144 scale Gunpla "HG (High Grade)" series, "HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith Thorn," from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," scheduled for release on March 18, 2023.
The EDM-GA-01 Gundam Lfrith Thorn is a Gundam-type mobile suit developed from the Lfrith mass production prototype before the Vanadis Institute, a Gundam development organization, was purged by the MS Development Council's special forces. It was later provided to the anti-Spacian organization "Dawn of Fold" on Earth and piloted by the Earth Witch "Norea Du Noc" in the main story 21 years later. Compared to the Lfrith and Aerial, which utilize numerous geometric designs, this mobile suit features a refined armor design and short legs. Most of its large thrusters enhance its cosmic mobility, and its large beam rifle allows for excellent long-range sniping performance.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith Ur" faithfully recreates its anime appearance with multi-color molded parts and excellent part separation, including independently molded green and red sections on the head. The back-fitting structure makes assembly more accessible, while ball joints in the neck, chest, and waist provide flexible articulation, allowing the mobile suit to display forward and backward leaning poses. Weapon accessories include a large beam rifle, a shield, and the same phased array cannon as its brother unit Ur, capable of reproducing the deployed state after Parmet Score activation.
