GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable pre-painted figure series "POP UP PARADE," based on the classic anime "Hikaru no Go," is simultaneously releasing the "Fujiwara no Sai" and "POP UP PARADE Hikaru Shindo" PVC figures! Each is priced at 4,800 JPY and is scheduled for release in February 2023.
The protagonist of "Hikaru no Go," Hikaru Shindo, was originally just an ordinary, clueless sixth-grader. After touching an ancient Go board stained with Torajiro's blood in his grandfather's warehouse, he became possessed by the ancient Go player Fujiwara no Sai. At Sai's earnest request, Hikaru began to play Go on his behalf to fulfill Sai's wish. Influenced by Sai's guidance and the serious attitude of Akira Toya, son of the Go master Koyo Toya, Hikaru, who initially only played to appease Sai, gradually developed a genuine interest in Go, embarking on the path of Go and aspiring to become a professional Go player.
The "POP UP PARADE Hikaru Shindo" figure stands approximately 13 cm tall. It faithfully recreates his distinctive black hair with yellow bangs, his signature yellow and black baseball T-shirt, and sneakers.
