Japan's Bandai Toy Company's Gashapon capsule toy brand today officially announced a brand new Gashapon series themed on 'Mobile Suit Gundam', 'CAPSULE ACTION'. The first product will feature the protagonist mobile suit from the original 'Mobile Suit Gundam', piloted by Amuro Ray, the 'RX-78-2 Gundam', scheduled for release in February 2023.
'CAPSULE ACTION' is a new series of products sold in Gashapon capsule toy format, transforming mobile suits from the 'Mobile Suit Gundam' series into approximately 9cm tall articulated figures. The overall design features more layered, high-density details compared to the original settings, with paintwork reproducing the colors of each part, and printed body markings for a more refined texture. The neck, waist, and limbs all feature a certain level of articulated joint design, allowing for dynamic posing with the included weaponry.
The first product, 'RX-78-2 Gundam', features reinterpreted armor detail lines, creating a lean and powerful physique for the original Gundam. The neck, waist, limb joints, and skirt armor all have articulation mechanisms, allowing for natural high-kneeling poses. Weaponry includes the basic beam rifle and shield, and combined with the flexible articulated joints, cool battle poses can be achieved. This product will be simultaneously released in two types: a 'Standard Color Version' that reproduces the original setting colors, and a 'Clear Armor Version' that allows visibility of the internal frame.
